Easiest way to reset NT passwords

By SSG0487 ·
Anyone have any ideas on resetting a Windows NT password? I have a machine that has not been used in over a year, which no one has a password for. Other than using software to crack the password, what is the easiest way to get into the machine?

In my knowledge , other than to use a software crack on the NT . There seems to be no other alternative if you lost the admin password.

Is the machine a member of a workgroup, or a domain? If it's a member of the domain, then by default, the domain administrators group will be in the local administrators group; so any member of the domain administrators group will be able to login, and then change the password.
