In both IE and Chrome, Ebay doesn’t display correctly.
The words are in the wrong places, and some are sitting on other words.
IE works right in compatibility mode.
I updated Adobe Flash, Java, and my Intel chipset video drivers to no avail.
I reset Chrome to original configuration – didn’t help.
    What should I do?

I also deleted all cookies, the cach and history of both browsers.
If both browsers have this issue, it must be something with the OS – win 7, or hardware, no?

So the screen display is set to what?

Most times that any web page doesn’t display correctly it is because the screen resolution is way to high.

        Now everything’s good.
When I 1st updated the video driver and rebooted – no change.
the next day, though, it works right.
could it have needed 2 reboots, or a complete shutdown?
        whatever, it’s good now.

Maybe it needed a cold start

Not a reboot for the changes to take effect.
