ECS mobo

what do you guys think of ECS? are they reliable?

How about Epox?

My expierence with ECS has been very good there boards are very reliable,cannot comment on Epox

I haven't used ECS myself.
A friend swears by them, and they are the only MB that he uses.

Epox are not bad.
For AMD CPUs, I would place Epox behind A-Bit and Asus.
For Intel CPUs, I would add Intel brand boards to the above.

I have been wary of ECS because the prices tend to be so low and you see them all over Ebay in the bargain systems. However...I just got one of these bargain systems and was pretty impressed overall. I'd say they were good value. I don't like integrated video or sound on a mobo, but it's a good "quick and cheap" way to get a system together and you can often disable these features as you upgrade components (I'd check to make sure of this, though).

I don't have any experience with Epox...

I'm a long time Asus man when it comes to system boards (at least for myself). I just got an NForce 2 A7V8x and it's the finest motherboard I've seen in years.

I've typically recommended Gigabyte to the budget conscious.
