Email Encryption -Server Side

By pope-2009 ·
Hi,

I need to encrypt our office emails. We use Outlook 2007, and mailenable mail server.

Is there a way i can do it from the server side only(mail server) without necessarily having to configure outlook in every client.

Is so, or if not what do i need.. certificates? where do i get for a digital certificate for free and how do i go about in creating the digital signatures

Help need.

Regards

Here is the section fromthe mailenable site that talks about it.

the only problem with encrypting email is

no one will be able to read it, unless they have the key. you have to give those who get email keys which tends to defeat the purpose of encrypting email as you lose control of the key.

you can use public private keys, but then if you encrypt the email and don't have the key which decrypts the email, even you cant read it after you hit the send button.

PKI

You might look into a PKI system which will mangage digital certs, and provide electronic signatures, which includes encryption for files and emails.
