EMailing Outlook 2000 Calendar

Is there any way that you can actually email your calendar from Outlook (don't want to publish it to the web). We've tried saving it as an .html and emailing that and all the associated files, and also tried exporting it to a file in various formats (csv, xls, pst, etc) and it always comes to the recipient as just a bunch of garbage.

There is only one way that I am aware of, and it will only work if all users use Outlook. You export the calendar as a .pst file. When the user at the other end receives it, he must import the .pst file into his copy of Outlook.

Would the sent .pst overwrite the existing .pst information? If so, it wouldn't be an option.

If the recipient cannot import the .csv file (opening it with note pad or word would show gibberish), you could try exporting it as a simple text or ASCII file for DOS and then opening it in notepad. You could also print out the calender in what ever view you want, scan it as an image and send the image file. You could even press print screen when the desired image is showing on the screen and pasting in word, then send the word document, but it will be huge and if size is restricted either byyour outgoing or the recipients incoming mail server, then it wouldn't go through. Worth a try, though. Very interesting question. Please post a comment letting us know what worked out for you. Also, it would be interesting to know more details, ISP and such. Best wishes.

We did some tweaking and were finally able to send it and receive/open/read as a .csv file. The problem comes in because this individual travels so much they synch with the exchange server only about once every 6-8 weeks (so permission to view the calendar is worthless if it's not updated) and although file size on this end for receiving/sending (using a Tier1 provider on a T1 using Exchange 5.5) are not limited the outside dialup connection (earhtlink) we use when traveling does have one.

If you can't educate the recipient, try creating the calendar in Word.
Go to:

www.slipstick.com/addins/calendar.htm

(There are no spaces in the URL)

Look for the My Outlook Calendar template.
