Error attempting to join domain:

By diego.defuentes ·
Windows cannot find the network path.

This error keeps on showing on my Windows 2003 Enterprise server when i try to add it to my newly created domain. DNS is configured for the domain up and running on the domain server; also Netbios helper services are started on both.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Network path could mean several things, but I would guess you havea connection issue. Check layer 1 (cables) to make sure they are all pluged in and working (green lights on nics). Next look at layer 3. Can you ping your gateway from the new server? Is the new server's IP in the rigt subnet for the gateway, and does the new server have the correct ip info for the dns server?
If you can ping the gateway, can you ping the dns server, the DC? traceping may help find where the "dead" spot is in the connection. Hard to give more specific advice.
