Excel Formula Doesnt Update or Refresh

By gokhan76 ·
Hi Guys,

I had this formula in my one of columns:

=SUMPRODUCT(C3:M3,$C$2:$M$2)/(((SUM($C$2:$M$2))-(SUMIF(C3:M3,"NA",$C$2:$M$2))-(SUMIF(C3:M3,"",$C$2:$M$2))))

Now When I change any cell values on the worksheet normally the figure on the formula should be changing but it doesnt update or refresh the formula some how...

How can I solve this problem....?

Regards,

From the Excel 2003 help

by j.lupo In reply to Excel Formula Doesnt Upda ...

you can do the following:

Change when and how formulas are calculated
By default, Microsoft Excel automatically recalculates formulas when the cells that the formula depends on have changed.

Calculate a worksheet or workbook now

Press F9 Calculates formulas that have changed since the last calculation, and formulas dependent on them, in all open workbooks. If a workbook is set for automatic calculation, you do not need to press F9 for calculation.

Press SHIFT+F9 Calculates formulas that have changed since the last calculation, and formulas dependent on them, in the active worksheet.

Press CTRL+ALT+F9 Calculates all formulas in all open workbooks, regardless of whether they have changed since last time or not.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+F9 Rechecks dependent formulas, and then calculates all formulas in all open workbooks, regardless of whether they have changed since last time or not.

By default it should be auto recalculating. Has anything else changed?

If your worksheet does not....

...calculate any formulas automatically, you might want to check the Tools->Options->Calculation (tab) to ensure the "Automatic" option is turned on. This is for Excel 2003.

Recreated formula to fix "Excel Formula Doesnt Update or Refresh" issue

by jarabe28 In reply to If your worksheet does no ...

I had the same problem w/ this formula:

=IF(ISERROR(Land!MyValue), 0, Land!MyValue)

I Recreated the formula to fix it
1. Press F2 to edit formula
2. deleted "Land!MyValue"
3. used mouse to browse to Land sheet and click on MyValue cell.

That should work

Not scalable answer....

by Razor In reply to Recreated formula to fix ...

This works for ONE instance. If you have used this MyValue variable in 500 places in your spreadsheet, you will be like me... Untrusting that they all update. Its unacceptable not to be able to trust that variables are working. The Control-Alt-F9 worked, but WHY is it breaking? Too many?

FORMULA DOES NOT UPDATE IN SOME CELLS

by shanker2 In reply to Excel Formula Doesnt Upda ...

Cells are not automatically updated when related cell are changed. This sheet was working fine till last month, now only some cells update automatically, some do not. I have to keep checking all the cells to make sure the total are correct. Multiple tabs in the worksheet makes it hard to keep up. The calculation tab is already set to Automatic. Please help!
