Excel Macro erasing

By raned ·
Hello,

I'm having a problem clearing my macros from an Excel file. I have gone to Tools/Macros and deleted everything. No macros show in the list. However, every time I start up the file, I get the macro warning message asking me if I want to enable my macros. I "yell" back . . . "but I don't have any macros". Yelling hasn't worked. Any ideas how I can make sure all macros have been erased from a file?

I have a feeling there is some residual macro stuff hidden that I can't get to todelete. I do not want to turn off macro protection in the Options menu. I just want all macros cleared from the file, so the "enable macros" question stops appearing.

Thanks,

Randy

To make sure there is no "residual stuff" do the following:

1. Go to Tools->Macro->Visual Basic Editor (or press Alt+F11). You will see a number of code modules appearning on the left and the code associated with them on the right when you click any one of them.

2. Delete all the code you find when you click on an object on the left (press Cntl + A and then hit Delete).

You will no longer have any code associated with the file, so you won't get the question about enabling macros when you open it.
