Exch2K Design & Configuration

By joycetm ·
Hello,

I have the following scenario:-

Server A with domain called UVW.COM
Server B with domain called XYZ.COM

Both servers are of separate entities with its own group of users. If I install Exch2K on the servers respectively, can I use a common domain name eg. @ABC.COM for the email domains. If this is possible, how do I go about doing it? and if it's not possible, is there another way to do so?

Appreciate any ideas from anyone.

Thank you,
Joyce

Yes you can do it - I run a similar thing where I work - essentially you will need to setup x 2 common DNS zones (for example ABC.com and Child.ABC.com) that both servers can see decide which server you wish to have as the main server (e.g forward client facing - for example UVW.com) - then via the Exchange System manager on the main server under addressing policies make your E2K Responsible for delivery to ABC.com and setup child.abc.com as a remote delivery. Under the SMTP virtual server - configure this to send unresolved addresses to server XYZ.com - drop me a line if you need further info a.grogan@flangemanifold.com

There is a little bit more to configuring the child.abc.com (as you need it all to appear to world as someone@abc.com) - send me an e-mail if you are interested.
