By raheel_911 ·
hello there...
i have windows server 2003 as a domain controller and i install exchange server 2003 on top of it. i know its againt the rules but this is just for educatinal purposes.
one cable modem connected with linksys wrt54g router.
router dhcp is disabled.
server 2003 is taking care of that.
my cable company is comcast located in chicago.
i open port 25 and 110 on linksys router pointing it to my server local ip address of 192.168.1.10
my domain controller is called mydomain.local
in dns settings i create a forward lookup zone name dns1.mydomain.com and in reverse lookup zone i created a primary zone and point it to my public ip address. and inside of it i create ptr record pointing it to my dns1.mydomain.com
in forward lookup zone of dns1.mydomain.com i created a A record pointing it to my public ip address. i also create MX record and give it name mail.mydomain.com
in default recipient policy i set mydomain.com as primary.
in register.com i set A record as
dns1.mydomain.com point to 66.43.23.112 <fake>
and in MX record.
dns1.mydomain.com points to mail.mydomain.com

now i can't go anyfurther from here.
i am able to send and recieve mail from local network. but nothing goes outside.
i also try internet mail wizard from action menu but it just create a smtp connector and nothing happens.
the network adaptop i have got two NIC port on back of it.
i connect one and i got the other one disabled.
the one i got connected have static ip address which is local.

can some one pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee help me out i spend like 3 days on it already.
