Exchange 2K- how to move Public Store

    Locked

    by gizmoxman ·

Setup: W2K with SP3 + Exchange 2K Enterprise with SP2. Multiple hard drives. 1 drive per Storage Group. Have 4 storage groups. Not able to backup First Storage Group. Possible HW drive problems. Can access all mailboxes and folders, no problems.

Need to move all Private and Public stores to Second Storage Group on another HD. I can easily move individual Milboxes, however, I can not find any info on how to move Public Store or Individual public folders to another Storage Group on the same server

Thanks you for you response. However, the database itself is corrupt, moving it will not fix the problem. I am trying to move the Folder content out of the corrupt DB to another (new) database in a different storage group (on the same server).

Hardware is OK. Just run ESEutil /K and (.stm) files for both Private and Public have bad checksum error on multiple pages (-1206 error)
Users can access all info (at least they are not complaining)

If you can access the public folders from Outlook, have you tried to export, via Outlook, from the “bad” public folder to a “.pst” file and then import into the other public folder?

Thank you for your reply. It is not a single folder, but the whole (.stm) public database that is corrupt. My understanding is that export/re-import of Public folders will loose my free/busy connector association witn the schedulinng functions. If Iam wrong, (.pst) may work. However, I have ~18gb of public folders, exporting one at a time would be a pain in the —-. Do you know of any utilities that do this???
