i am having trouble all of a sudden with one of my employees email. we use exchange on a proxy server. we have about 100 on email. everyone is working fine. hers has started having problems just recently, nothing has been changed or added. theproblem is people are calling her telling her there email is being sent back to them undeliverable, that they try to send her. they have always been able to before, they are putting in the right address, and it's not every email, she still receivesemail from outside sources, but is not receiving email from several others that have called her. any suggestions?

It would be helpful to know the version and service pack level of your Exchange, but to start tracking this down, you should first make sure your system is sending NDRs (non-delivery reports) and then wade carefully through them looking for mail that might be aimed for her but has some addressing anomaly. If that doesn't produce the information, it suggests that the mail is not even getting as far as your server.

At that point, it would be helpful to have the NDR from one of the senders. Iusually contact them by telephone and have them send the NDR to my e-mail address. That has two benefits - I can see exactly where the mail was rejected and I also know that it is not a problem of getting mail from that particular domain to my domain.

I've found a couple of repeating themes with our users. One is that my domain has somehow ended up on some ISP's spam filter list. The other is that the user's e-mail account is sending out the wrong return address so every time someone hits"reply" rather than manually addressing the message, it gets kicked back as undeliverable.

Hope that gives you some ideas about where to start.
