A couple of questions here which may be of assistance

Has this ever worked on this system?

If it's just a new install why did you see the need to install this application did you think your computer was infected?

It's possible that with an infection the system can not correctly install or launch this type of Application as it's been attacked by whatever it is that has infected the machine.

Most Infections now are written to disable or prevent the installation of products that can get rid of them. If that's the case here you'll need to attack this load with a Rescue Disc so that the OS doesn't get loaded and the infection isn't running.

You can try one of those listed in this TR Blog

Though from my experience there is no Magic Bullet you may be required to run more than 1 to get rid of whatever you have been infected with. However saying that I would suggest F Secure

http://www.f-secure.com/en_EMEA-Labs/security-threats/tools/rescue-cd

and the AVG Rescue Disc available here

http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-rescue-cd#tba3

Both are free and work very well.

But if there is no infection I would be asking Spy Hunter themselves as to what is happening here.

Or try installing it in Safe Mode.
