File types browsing in the same window
I have a problem. I am running W2K/SP2, O2K/SP2, IE5.5/SP2. What I need is when you click on My Computer-Tools-Folder Options-File Types. Pick any extension and click on the Advanced button. There are 3 choices under the action window, Confirm after download, Always show extension and Browse in same window. The problem is Browse in same window is greyed out. I have numerous computers from Compaq and Dell with pre-loaded W2K and this exists in all builds. Some people that have loaded W2K themselves ( unsure if upgrade or not) have this button available. I work in an engineering enviroment and being able to browse in the same window is needed. Does anyone know how I can turn this button on through a reg hack or MMC or anything else. Thanks

goto http://www.xteq.com/ and download xteq 6.5 this utility will allow you to tweak a number of settings including the browse in same window setting. hope this helps, if not it has a lot of cool tweaks anyway

Although it allowed tweaking of IE it still did not resolve my problem.
