Folder accessing
LockedWe are constantly accessing folders on the file server via our WAN. Each remote site has direct access to the file servers and each site has dedicated T1 lines. Each user accessing the dual xeon processor file server is using windows xp(sp2). It is very slow in responding when the remote users start accessing folders that may be 3 or 4 layers deep. I have tried to turn off XP’s firewall but that did not speed up the results. I have disabled any virus-checking software just for Test purposes on any file/folder. Made no difference.
ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD GREATLY BE CONSIDERED. There must be medium-large organizations doing this also. Wondered what they are using…..Thanks in advance..
