Folder in 'my computer'

By rgp_computers ·
I have an un-named folder in 'my computer'. I can't remember the fix to remove it. Does anyone remember?

If you cannot delete the folder in by right clicking and choosing delete, right click the folder and choose properties. Note the MS-DOS name. Restart the PC in DOS mode and type DELTREE dosname, where dosname is the MS-DOS name of the folder. Make sure you are in the parent directory.

Thanks for the answer, however, this folder has no properties. All that is available with a right click is 'cut', 'create shortcut' and delete. none of which work.

If it is a folder, you should at least rename it. If not, may be a shortcut or a program with a folder like icon.

single click on it and then hit the delete key on the keyboard and see if you can delete it. Also run scandisk to make sure that your files and folders are ok. It may be a messed up file system.
