Format my hard drive

By moorec ·
I don't have a recovery disk and would like to format my hard drive on an old pentium75.

It has Win98. Please tell me how to do it correctly.

First start with creating a start up disk,Open Control Panel,double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon, select the Startup tab and it will prompt you to install floppy.
Insert floppy in A:drive and CD,at the command prompt enter c: /s

Format my hard drive

I posted this message on another site and someone told me to type

C: /U.

Coupled with my knowledge of DOS, I was able to make it work. But just so that I'll know in the future, can you tell me what C:/S means? In other words, what does theswitch /S do?

Thanks for your answer, and I'm sure it would have worked also.
