Formatting in Excel using Macros

By jena ·
I am currently on student placement within a company and have been asked to produce reports from their existing Information System which holds sales figures etc. I have to export data from the I.S. into Excel - however much formatting is required each time. Is there some way of doing this automatically? Type of formatting= cell width adjustment etc, as well as calculations / sub-totals...
Thanks.

Import your data and then go to Tools>Record Macro
Walk through your formatting and the stop the recorder.
You will now have a macro that will play back your actions.

Hello Jena, it depends on the format of your original data. It is better that you give some example so that we know how to deal with it.
