OOPS!....sorry about the ALL-CAPS...didn't mean to yell...

Can anyone recommend any good free document imaging management software?

I googled it and found this article, , but I've never really heard of any of these

I guess the all important word here is free...I have an excellent Dell MFP Printer and I have at least 4 or 5 years of documents that I just want to scan...but I need to organize all these documents, thus the need for a free software program.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

Are you looking for something for Windows?

If so, then you can try IrfanView! It's one of the handiest imaging softwares available
for the Windows platform, and it's free.
In the "File" menu is where you can select your "twain source" for scanning.
Some printers come with software packages as well. My Lexmark did, it's one
of those "all in one" gadgets...not fancy, but it works well.

edit to add: if I remember correctly, the Lexmark software also
included ABBYY Finereader for handling documents and such...
I don't think it's free, except for a free trial. Might be worth a
look though?! I checked, the price for the "express" version is
$49.99...might be too expensive.
