It's Time to get to work!

by intellitech In reply to From The Desk of IntelliT ...

The money spent on the sponsorship scandal to keep the country united is being matched by the waste of time and money from nothing getting done by our government. It's time to do what the taxpayers pay you to, and that is, to go to work, get something done, and govern this country. Are they going to hold everything up in committee meetings, so that nothing from the budget makes it to its destination? Then have another election, end up with another minority government, put together another budget, and try to ram that one through, and have it start all over again. We pay our government to work. We are wasting just as much money right now, because nothing is getting done. At least the NDP did something to try to get some work done. Harper has done nothing but tell us something we already know, and waste tons of our money now, because he doesn't want to work with this government! We already pay him now, to work with this government, no matter who is in charge. I say get to work. Get the money to where it is supposed to go, quit acting like children, and do what we pay you to do, and this is for every member of the government! If the Conservative leader can't work together with anyone in Parliament, do we really want him to lead this country? It's also time to put aside our differences with the States. There are hundred's of thousands of people that have ties, family, and friends in the US and Canada. The people do not have any problems with each other. Our governments might, and some very legitimate, but it's time to go forward. We both have new Ambassadors now, so maybe they can get off on the right foot.

This is only my opinion, and I am sure plenty will disagree with me, and that is okay. Does it mean, I can't go to the person that disagrees with me and shake their hand and sit down and have a discussion? No. If we can do it, why can't our members of Parliament? It is embarssing to the rest of the world what has been going on. We talk about the States being divided. We are not in a position to judge. North American needs to stand together. One day, we will know that it is in our best interest. American's and Canadian's should be able to come and go as we please across the border. Work and live where we want. With the European Union, China, India, and more gaining strength at an alarming rate. It is time for us to be United, not Divided. This has been an IntelliTech Editorial Post...............

The War On Spam!

by intellitech In reply to From The Desk of IntelliT ...

The Government of Canada's Task Force on
Spam today presented its final report entitled, Stopping Spam:
Creating a Stronger, Safer Internet, to the Honourable David L.
Emerson, Minister of Industry.

The report calls for new, targeted legislation, as well as more
rigorous enforcement, which would strengthen the legal and
regulatory weapons that Canada could use in the global battle
against spam. It also supports the creation of a focal point
within government for coordinating the actions taken to address
the spam issue and other related problems like spyware.

Minister Emerson congratulated the members of the Task Force on
Spam for their work over the last year.

"We need to rid the Internet of the scourge of spam if Canada is
going to be able to reap the full benefit of a strong e-economy,"
said Minister Emerson. "These recommendations merit strong
consideration. I want to thank the Task Force members for their
time and effort."

Industry Canada established the Task Force on Spam one year ago to
oversee the implementation of the government's Anti-Spam Action
Plan and to consider further action. The Task Force brought
together leading representatives of ISPs, e-marketers, government
and consumers. Working group participation included over 60
stakeholder groups, which provided input on such key areas as
legislation and enforcement, international collaboration, and
public education and awareness. Under the leadership of the Task
Force, these groups have already implemented practical measures
aimed at reducing spam in Canada. Anti-spam "best practices" for
network management and for commercial e-mail marketing are now in
place. The Task Force also launched the Stop Spam Here
Internet-based communications campaign to inform users of steps
that they can take to limit and control the volume of spam they
receive.
For more
information on the Task Force on Spam, including the report,
please visit: http://e-com.ic.gc.ca/epic/internet/inecic-ceac.nsf/en/h_gv00317e.html
