Full Path for Filenames in Title Bar

By dalelife ·
In the Office 2000 apps, once a file is named, placed in a folder or subfolder, and file typed, during the File, Save process, is this full path for the file then listed in the title bar of the application, or is only the file name provided, as in the past?

If not, then we must continue to install add-on utilitites, like Office Toys, in order to list this full path in the application's title bar.

I just checked and Excel 2000 does NOT show the full path of a saved file on the title bar, only the filename. I don't see any option to have Office display that so I guess you're still stuck using the add-ons.

Sorry.

You might try suggesting they fix that. You can e-mail suggestions to mswish@microsoft.com and they DO read them.

Have you checked the OLREAD9.TXT file that comes with Office2000? It describes some issues with OL2K and CE.

Also, what is the exact error message that you're getting?

Office 2000 as well as Office 97 has had the capability of showing the full path in the shortcut bars. The shortcut bar is called "web" and displays it like the address bar in IE or Netscape. If you go to tools, then customize, and then the toolbars tab you can check the "web" box. This will work for all office apps. It is not shown in the title bar, but this is the next best thing.
