Groupwise Client window is transparent

By jmiller ·
In the Groupwise 5.5 client, the attachment window is transparent to the desktop and the user cannot see attachments. Upon reinstalling the client and , per a Novell TID replacing the MFC42.DLL in WINDOWS\SYSTEM dir, this has not helped. Any thoughts?

I do not have an answer for you. But, I do have a possible source of one. Have you checked the Novell newsgroups server forums.novell.com? I visit them regularly and have seen this problem discussed there. Give them a try for more ideas.

The latest service pak for Groupwise 5.5 fixes this problem. After the install you will need to rerun the the client setup again.

you have the answer. it is mfc42.dll, but you must copy it into the novell\groupwise directory not the windows directory.

Here's a quick and dirty way to do it. If you haven't patched yet, copy the original MFC42.DLL from the GroupWise CD into the C:\Novell\GroupWise. When launched, the program looks here first.
