    Half screen mouse

    Locked

    by dazmite ·

Heres on that I can’t figure out.
When I go Start > Programs > Acc. > System Tools > Benchmark folder > then anything in this folder. My mouse would only cover the lower half of the screen after this. I need to use keys to exit Win98 then restart tofix. This is just the example its also with anything that I have in the 5th from start folder. Any Ideas? Or is this just a limit to Windows. I like to place folders in different places, I like a neater appearance.
    Thanks for the Help
    Paul

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mouse > Hardware tab > Then Properties button > And from there update your driver for it and also whle you there see what info Windows will give you on the problem. I recoomend downloading the updated drivers for it or simply un-install it and let Windows install the driver for you out its Cab files.

Believe it or not, this sounds like it could be a display driver conflict. Download and install the newest driver for your video card if you can. if not, than it is most likely an invalid registry key or corrupted dll file. If this is the case, then you might need to reinstall your os. But definitely try the mouse driver idea first. 🙂

      Good Luck!

Here is what might be a quick fix. Go Start>Settings>Control Panel>Display Settings>Advanced>Performance. Then adjust your hardware graphica acceleration via the slide to none. See if that rectifies your problem. You can make gradual adjustmentsto none and hopefully you find the setting that works! This adjustment works well when you have constant ‘screen freezes’ too.
      I do hope it helps

I had this same exact problem not too long ago. What caused my problem was my video driver. Anytime I went 4 screens deep on my start menu the mouse would only be able to move on the lower half of the screen. Go to your video card vendors websiteand download the latest drivers. BTW my video card was the 16mb creative labs vodoo banshee
