How do you go about retrieving data from a hard disk after it has crashed?

The simplest way I have found is to take the drive and make it a slave on another machine, you can then access all the data from it that way. The drive will become the D:\ drive on the other puter, use windows explorer to access the files.
Good luck!

That depends on how bad it crashed. If you can get to it from a boot disk you can copy files to disk or cdrw. If your computer dont see it at all you can download repair utilities from the harddrive maker. But if its unreadable ether get a new one or pay a high price to send it to a data retreval service.
