Hard Drive issues Computer still thinks drive E: is there, just offline

By Savantskie ·
I have a PC, which has been set up for many years. Recently, i needed to get rid of my 1TB drive to use in my server.

I removed the drive, stuck it in my hard drive dock, then deleted all the info. And formatted the drive.

Hot removed the drive, and put it in the server.

Now when I run backups the server still asks if I want to backup drive E. Even though it's not in my main computer, and when I look at my backup stuff, it says that my PC still has drive E, it's just offline.

Any way to get rid of this?

You didn't say which version of Windows you are running

However if you go to your pc from which you have removed the hard drive..
Right click "Computer" or "My Computer" select "Manage" from the fly-out menu
Click "Disk management" from the menu on the left.
Click "Other Actions" select Rescan disks.
