Hard drive security - read-only access possible with XP

By gourmetgreg ·
I have two internal hard drives in my home pc, runnign windows XP SP2.
On the second hard drive I have the family's photos. I'd like to allow read-only access to this drive so that my 3 y.o. son cannot accidently delete them. I usually have the "guest" account running.
Any ideas? Thanks..Greg.

Note that in XP Home edition you will need to logon to an administrators account in Safe Mode to accomplish this.

you could mount the drive as a volume and set it read only. That way you can edit files yourself but a 3y.o.probably cant?
cheers
