Hard Drive Size

By nhoek ·
I have a regular IDE Western Digital Hard drive that has a capacity of 250 GB. I have installed in as a slave in my XP Pro system. I see the drive but only set up to 128 GB? In the CMOS I see the drive and it shows that it is 250 GB. I tought Windows XP could see up to a teribyte ?

Any ideas ?

Hello!

You need to install SP1 (Service Pack 1) in order to use a drive larger than 128GB. Install at least SP1 and Windows XP will see the entire drive.
