Have Windows XP Home CD Keys, and a Windows XP Professional SP2 Disk

By imtheguido ·
Alright, so I recently had two computers crash within a weeks period, my own stupidity, viruses that deleted important files in the registry. Like I said, stupid me. Now I have a major problem. I found My XP Disc, but as it turns out, it is a Professional copy Service Pack 2 disk. Fully installs Xp properly, but my computers only have the CD keys for Windows XP Home. I have a feeling I may be screwed here, as I have no burner available to me to make an ISO of an XP home disc with one of my other computers. IF anyone has any ideas on how to help, please let me know?

they should be able to help you find your key, or issue a new one.

Buy a copy of XP Home or Pro?

1) Borrow a copy of XP Home from a friend, use your Home Key to Activate the installation? As long as your key is the same TYPE (as in "OEM License", "RETAIL License", "VOLUME License") as the XP Home disk you borrow, you will have no problems.
2) Buy a license for XP Pro?
3) Chuck 'em both, and buy a copy of Vista Home Premium?
4) Buy a cheap Distro of Linux from CheapBytes.com?
5) Roll your own OS?
