I run two Seagate ST15230WC drives on a SIIG card with no problem. But I've also run them on an Adaptec card with no problems. Since both Seagate and Adaptec manufacture their equipment to SCSI standards, your SCSI adapter and HDD should work together just fine. The Adaptec card is also backward compatible with slower SCSI standards.

It should work just fine. The 2940UW only supports single-end SCSI and to get maximum performance from this drive you would want a card that supports LVD (e.g. 2940U2W), but the drive is backwards compatible with single-ended Wide SCSI. You won't get the full 80meg bandwidth of which the drive is capable but it will still work well in most applications.
