    Help Desk Software?

    Locked

    by qhcomputingny ·

Can someone tell me the best help desk software that I could implement at my company. We are currently trying HelpStar but I don’t think there is enough functionality in it to properly run our help desk. We aren’t looking for the most expensive package but we aren’t looking to go the cheap route either. We need something that looks decent to the eye and has decent functionality. What do you use at your company? Any that you don’t use that you wish you had? Let me know.
    Thanks,
    Eddie

For Helpdesk, we use CA’s Service IT. Tried a few other Apps in the past. The only other major product, though, was Vantive.

Vantive is fine in a small environment, but when the DB size and user count start getting big, it starts swallowing quad-Alpha servers whole.

My old company used Vantive, and it was very effective. One of it’s best features was its ability to be highly customized.

The newest version solved many of the scalability issues. The older version still worked in large environments, it just tok some fine tuning.

I have experience with several, vantive is ok, there are a few others, they all have hang ups, especially when there are 100 or more users. I sugest Siebel software, a little more expensive, but reliable in the long run. Save time and money all around.

We use a product made by Network Associates called Total Service Desk, its an sql product. We support over 2000 end-users and the reporting toolsl are great. Being sql , you can customize all your reporting needs. You can also customize all screens/fields for your particular needs.
