Help! I need my 800 by 600 color setting

By g.horner ·
I was trying to save some space on my hard drive. I noticed a program called SiS mulitmedia and I deleted it. I do not know what causerd this but my color setting choices are now 2 color and 16 color. Some of the programs I work with require 800 by 600.

Help! I need my 800 by 600 color setting

I think you deleted the file that is needed by you Display Card,(or maybe that file is the Device driver, or some Program that need to run in order to run properly your v. card)

My first step is, if will find my model of my video card manufacturer (ex. Sis630, Sisxxx) then i will go to their website and find the latest driver for that.

Then, I will install it. If you don't know how to install it. refer to the readme.txt file that have at your downloaded file or refer to the web Instruction that have at that site.

Hope this will!!!

The SIS Multimedia program was the software drivers for your video card, which you have deleted, which is causing you not to adjust the display.

Open the Control Panel and then right-click on System icon, look to see if the diplay is listed,if theiris a yellow exclamation mark, you will need to reinstall the drivers to your video card

Go to manufacturers web site and download the latest drivers for the type of card you ahve and reinstall the video drivers

Once you have the program reinstalled, open Display and then make the necessary adjustments

Check out this thread:

Remove any spaces from the URL when you paste it into your browser. You may have to open the CPU to see your display adapter to make sure that you know exactly what model video adapter is installed if it's not listed in your system documentation. If you cannot find drivers at the manufacturer's site, there are other sites that also help users find lost drivers:

http://www.drivershq.com/

http://www.mrdriver.com/

http://www.driversplanet.com/

http://www.driverguide.com/

http://www.driverzone.com/

http://www.pacosdrivers.com/
(drivers and .dll files)

Hope this helps.

Did you get a system CD with your PC if so the drivers are on there. SIS multimedia will auto-start when you insert the disk, just follow the prompts. If not, to download the drivers off the internet you will need to know exactly which video chip isin the system. Most of the time SIS video is mounted on the mother board. Windows may still show what the chip is in Device Manager. Right click on MY Computer icon and select properties. Click the Device Manager tab and open the diplay icon.
