Help me regarding saving updates

Dears. I have a problem when i install fresh copy of windows xp professional after that from windows updates i also update my windows with fixes and pacthes always after reinstall. It will take a long time after a fresh install. Is there any good way that i will store all these updates and whenever i will reinstall my windows xp then i will install it from the saved locations.

1)You can D\L and them and save it on a disk(if you have a second HDD) or burn them to a cd.

2)Or once you have completed installing all the updates Ghost the machine and store it somewhere safe. And them periodically back-up all your files. That way the next time you have to do a clean install you just ghost the machine and run your updated back up. Should take about 45 min-60 min.

When you run Windows Update, only a set of temporary files is on your PC until the update is installed. The files are NOT stored locally.

You can use the Windows Update Catalog page:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/

to download updates for supported versions of Windows and save them to your hard drive.

I also check the Microsoft Download page once a week for any new updates.

I do recommend that you install updates in the order that they were released.
