Help Printing PowerPoint

By whyjillwhy ·
I have a PowerPoint 2000 presentation with JPGs inserted, but the pictures are not printing when we print the slides. Any suggestions on how to get those to print? They are in front, and they show up during the slideshow, but they just don't print.

Use the File|Print menu to print and not the icon. It should have a Print What drop down box--make sure that it isn't the Outline view which will not show pictures, but slides, handouts, or notes. Check before you print by using the Print Preview. You may have to check w\ MS Office site on imbedding fonts and images into your presentation so that it becomes a part of it rather than simply a reference to the file on your computer. If you copy the presentation to CD or diskette and run it on another computer, will the pictures show? If they do, check your printing options in File|Print menu. If they don't show on the other computer, you need to imbed the images in the presentation. Unfortunately, this may only be an option for Power Point XP and 2003, but I'm not sure of that since I don't use 2000.

It was set to Slides, and PowerPoint doesn't have a Print Preview function. Thanks, anyway.

You're welcome. I think I was correct in the imbedded images on PPT 2K:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;243065&Product=ppt2000

Remove any spaces from the above link or search for the Microsoft Knowledge Base article number 243065 which relates to PPT2K and states:

"PowerPoint OLE objects are not intended to be printed, they are only meant to be shown in a slide show."

Sorry. You may want to think about upgrading to XP or even 2003 which also has the "Save to CD" option in Power Point which will include a power point viewer on the CD for those who don't have power point installed.

Thanks, but upgrading is not my decision to make.
