HELP- removing Microsoft Client for Netw

By pebbles ·
We have 95 clients on a mixed Win NT and Novell network. We are going to remove the Novell servers from our network. I am trying to remove the Microsoft Client for Netware(not the Novell Client for Netware) and the IPX protocol automatically from Win95 workstation.

Does anyone know of a way to do this? I need it to be silent on the client end and these are mostly 95 Workstations. I did see a "Q" article that made reference to only removing from NT WS.
I tried doing this myself via a registry edit ( I used a util called Advanced Registry Tracer). It removed the Netware client and IPX BUT I get prompted for with the "Add new hardware wizzard" each time I perform this registry "hack". I believe it is due to the bindings to the NIC. Running from desktop to desktop IS NOT an otion either.
I also tried using SMS 2.0 but the only package I can create with this will also only perform a registry edit.
Please advise,
Julie

I would suggest looking at Windows 95 Resource Kit. You should be able to apply a script to run at login that will remove the Microsoft Client for Netware. I would be brave enough to sya that if Client for Netware is uninsatlled propely that IPX should vanish also..I will mail you some details of the info I have....

The answer is simple, your doing an uninstall you don't need to uninstall the app. you need to create a Rollback. Note: SMS MCSE- Uninstall cleans reg & removes files, Rollback returns System to prev. State. NOw knowing this, create the snapshot using the Rollback feature, note, when drop this on the box WITH SMS choose it to be Scheduled, and slient set it for xdarkwhatever at night when nobody is around..this will get rid of the CSNW from microsoft , be silent, run automated at night when nobody is there. NOte you need to do this for EACH type of SYSTEM. 95 is not as picky about arch. as NT however SMS Is. GOOD Luck- AL
