Hidden Files and Folders from FTP Client

By kkawano ·
Hi,

I am using Redhat and WU-FTP. I created accounts using the interface in Redhat. I made sure the file has groups set to read and execute. I copy a file to the users folder and go to a FTP client and login. When I do a ls -l I can't see the file or folder names. The wierd thing is that I can download the file if I use the file name. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Karl

well, a couple of ideas..

by Jaqui In reply to Hidden Files and Folders ...

is your wuftp set to allow indexing?
and when you "copy the file to the user's folder"
are you copying to thier ftp folder or thier home directory?

$HOME/public_ftp
$HOME/public_html

if you are talking a webhosting type thing.
the public_ftp should point to public_html instead.
then apache will also list the files if you allow indexing.
