Home Directories - Admin Control?!

By KahunaNui ·
Aloha!

Is there any way to grant the administrator full control access to every user's home directory without disturbing existing (user) permissions *OTHER THAN* with the CALCS.EXE utility?! How 'bout Registry settings?

We thought we read somewhere about a method that would avoid the hassle of having to take ownership of all the home directories.

If your users home directory belong to a single root, you just give the administrator full access to the root, and mark the rights propagation to all the subfolders. Wouldn't that resolve it?

Good luck!

Sorry, but since the Administrator already has full control of the "single root", we don't understand what you are saying here.

You answered your own question...just have to give NTFS permissions to the files for the administrators at the level of full control.

Not sure what you mean here. But we think you are saying that CACLS is the only way to resolve this other than taking owneship of each directory...
