does XP have the opitoin for ntfs in the home edition

Yes, you can format drives as NTFS volumes in XP home edition.
I don’t know if XP Home has the FAT32 to NTFS conversion tool though.
XP Home does NOT have the EFS file protection that XP Pro has.
