    Home Folder deletion problems

    This is my scenario:

Our server has home folders for all users and by accident the user accounts were deleted before the home folders could be cleaned out. Some of these folders contain lots of info.(10-30MB) I have tried to delete these folders but am denied access. I have taken ownership of the users folder but cannot access the subfolders or files. When I try to take access of these through permissions and ownership I am denied access. The subfolders are StartMenu, ApplicationData and so on. User profiles I think with a User.dat file. I can’t take ownership or permission of these files even when applying changes to the existing subdirectories when adding the admin account with F/C. What am I missing and is there any solution to this problem?

I’ve run into this before. You have to keep applying the ownership/permission changes to the directory and subdirectories until you no longer get error messages. The changes to the permissions for files/dirs can’t be changed until the ones higher up the tree are changed. Its a pain but eventually you can get to all the files.

      good luck
