how 2 connect VISTA n XP systems through LAN

Can anyone suggest how 2 connect two systems-one with windows XP n other with windows VISTA through a LAN cable.it would be a great help to me to copy my data 4m desktop to laptop

hi..
it is very easy to connect. if you want to connect point to point the you should have a cross cable. and then plz assign static ip to both computers of same class. the you will be access the full resources of network. and you can copy data also.

I would be using a Hub, Switch or Router to connect the two computers, by Ethernet cable. The other alternatives are by wireless or by a crossover cable.

Put "LLTD" on the XP machines so Vista can see them.

go network sharing, go to adapter sating choose LAN ,right click
