How can I boot to a USB harddrive?

By don_franklin ·
We have purchased USB Harddrives to use for moving data on users computers to newer larger harddrives. Has anyone created a bootable disk which can boot to a USB drive?

How can I boot to a USB harddrive?

Hi,

As you've no doubt realised, USB is not supported under DOS - so a boot disk wont be able to see the USB drive at all.

Here is a site that offers USB drivers for DOS, though.

Cheers,
Tim.

As well, I believe your mobo has to support "boot from USB". Not all have that ability.
