How dial-up to ISP automatically in sche

By billy ·
I want to setup a scheduling task that can
automatically dial up to ISP and then run my program(ftp to a site and check any new files, then download and delete), and this task need to repeat every 10 mins.
Is that any tools can do that ? (eg. Getright+scheduler ..)and how to?
Thanks

This might be too simplistic, but what about setting up three jobs in scheduler, one to dial in to your ISP, and then about one minute after that the second job calls your batch file to do your ftp jobs, and then about one minute after that, run a job todisconnect you from the ISP.

I'm afraid this answer is only for NT - not much use for '95/'98. If you ARE using NT :

1.Make sure the Scheduler service is set to Automatic start under Services in the Control Panel
2.From an NT command prompt use the AT command to schedule a task with the following command line :

RASDIAL [connection name] [user] [password]

3.Make another scheduled task about 1 minute later to deal with the FTP
4.Make another scheduled task a few minutes after that to disconnect using the followingcommand line :

RASDIAL [connection name] /DISCONNECT

Off you go! Unfortunately it appears that RASDIAL is not documented in WinNT (at least - I can't find it anywhere :), but RASDIAL /? should give you most of the help you need. Feel free to email me with any questions if you are using NT and run into any more probs with this!

Dave.

If you use 95/98 try to get gozzila ftp clien which provides automation on hangin-up and even shut-down the computer. Place in into scheduler at a 10 min. time and enjoy.

1. Run Regedit.exe
2. Find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{FBF23B42-E3F0-101B-8488-00AA003E56F8}\DefaultIcon
3. Edit the " (Default) " key to "C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe,-32528"

This changes the default icon to #32528 in the file "C:\PROGRA~1\INTERN~1\iexplore.exe"

That should do it.

Your answer is a simple solution if you use this slick program we found called Automate. Below is a link to it on Download.com where you can see the detailed info. This GUI is a user friendly interface that allows windows scripting for dummies. Set anevent that upon completion, fires off another. Chek it out.

the link is:

hope this is your answer:
