How do I access a SharePoint link?

By Rjae ·

I have been emailed an MS Sharepoint Link which when clicked on fails to load the page.

Is there a minimum client requirement for me to be able to access this. Our environment runs Lotus Domino Servers, as the link suggests I need to have MS Outlook 2007, is it possible to access the site without it?

Well, for starters, is the SharePoint server on the same network?

SharePoint servers are simply web servers, so typically any web browser will work. It works better with IE, of course.

What error message do you get, specifically?

Unless the link is to perform a specific email action, it should not matter which mail client is on your PC.

No the link was provided from an outside source,

"The host name resolution (DNS lookup) for this host name ( xstranet.coal.xstratanet ) has failed"

I wanted to be certain that i had nothing missing on my end before i come to the assumption that the link does not exist, which i now believe is.

Am i correct?
