How do I get my Audio Player back?

By stevenscottoddballz ·
I have NO idea what happened. Last night I was able to listen to YouTube videos, today, NOTHING!

This is a Windows XP Pro 32-Bit

I KNOW the speakers work, because I unplugged them, & tried them in a game.

My players are the SoundMAX Digital Integrated Audio, Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device, Audio Codecs & Legacy Audio Drivers. {There is no conflict here} If you need more information, PLEASE let me know how to get them, as I am getting used to poking around in my computer.

Have you tried system restore to before the problem happened?

So if you open the Device Manager what does it show?

That is the starting point left click on Start then right click on My Computer and then left click on Proprieties in the Drop Down Menu and when the window opens left click on The Hardware Tab.

When that opens left click on Device Manager and scroll down till you Sound Video & Game Controllers.

If everything is correct there open the Control Panel Left Click on Sounds and Audio and when the next window opens left click on the Audio Tab and make sure that the correct device is shown there as your Sound Device.

I'm also assuming that you have not got your Sound Muted or otherwise turned down to nothing here but if you have not checked that it would be the starting point.
