How do I Remove a windows login Password from my labtop hard drive.

By Matrixreport ·
I want to attach my laptop hard drive via usb to another computer and access my files. But I have a windows login password. Is there a way to remove this password when the hard drive is attached to another computer via usb. Take note the original laptop is not working (sony PCG-GRT- 250p).

Assuming that you have used windows vista or windows 7 on the hard drive from your computer and you want to read your hard drive on another computer that has windows vista or windows 7 then you need to take ownership of the directory where your files are located.

You would need to install this tweek that will allow you to right click on the directory and that allows access.

Alternatively you could have the computer that your hard drive was installed on share the files or directory on a network that the other computer is connected. Granting access to this computer.

Yes you can remove your windows password. For this firstly boot the system(with which you want to attach your hard drive) with your laptop hard drive. Once you get access you can easily remove your system's password.

What do you mean by "Windows Password"?

If you have administrative privs on the machine that you hooked the hard drive up via USB you should be able to take ownership and change file permissions.

As I'm uncertain what your needs are you might find this of use...
