    How I fix outlook default email folder

    I am using Windows XP pro.
    I had a corrupt user profile in which I made a new one and fixed.
    What I get is my Outlook 2003 which start to open and stop doesn’t open and locks up.
    I get this err message “unable to open default email folders”.
    This is a PC on a network works with server at my work.
    I need step-by-step on how to fix this?

      Go into control panel, mail and correct the location for the default mail file in the Data files section.
      once corrected outlook should work.

        No file in, default mail file in the Data files section. none to look are.

        I gets an Issus (Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The file C:\document and Settings\Application data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook).ost is not an offline folder file.

        try this,

        if you can, delete the current mail setup in the account area, and recreat it after removing all the local ost files

      Try testing your Outlook server connection (send/reveive) in the mail account setup process to verify settings of POP3/SMTP/Exchange. If still not working, get Outlook reinstalled.
