How to change a domain password from a n

By wd4bxa ·
Ok, I'm stupid. Anyone know how a user can change their domain account password from a machine that is not a member of the domain?

User manager for domains requires you to be in the domain.

Net commands require you to be in the domain.

Seems like there ought to be a way to do this.

If you map a drive to a PDC or BDC in the domain and "Connect As:" the user. Then you can run 'usrmgr DOMAINNAME' from the command prompt and change the password. This is only if you connect as an account operator, or admin ofcourse.
hope this helps,
Joe
