How to connect a bluetooth headset with a Windows XP SP3 pc?

By Johnny9183 ·
After doing some research, I found out that I have to install some sort of a driver. I have a Sennheiser MM100 wireless headset. Sennheiser didn't provide any CD with the headset, and I see none in their website. Which third party driver should I use?

My computer detects the headset in the list of blue-tooth devices, but I can't play any music with it. When I go to Control Panel>Sounds and Audio devices>Audio>Sound Playback-Default device, no bluetooth headset shows in the drop down menu.

Help!

What Bluetooth Device do you have inside the computer?

by OH Smeg In reply to How to connect a bluetoot ...

That is what needs a driver not a Headset which only connects to the Computer tirelessly.

If you don't already have a Bluetooth Device inside the computer you need to add one.

Thanks for the reply. I don't have a built in bluetooth device, but an external one- Frontech bluetooth. I tried to manually update the driver, though device manager, but that didn't help. All my other devices detect and work fine, say my smartphone, but not this headset.

You need to run the Bluetooth Setup Wizard

On the Computer and add the Headset to it.

Just out of curiosity how many active Blue Tooth Devices do you have connected?

If there are a lot of them you could have exceeded the upper limit of your Blue Tooth Device.

Col,

I ran the setup. The headset shows under Bluetooth Audio devices and says passkey enabled. But still the same issue. I don't see it listed when I go to: Control Panel>Sounds and Audio devices>Audio>Sound Playback-Default device.

I just have the headset connected at the moment. I had my smartphone connected, but I removed it to test it out.
