How to create a bootable hard drive under xp?

By clisselaltamia ·
Hello,

I have an old laptop with harddrive only (no floppy, no cd) and need to upgrade harddrive. I tried many discimage programs, but none worked with imaging to external USB HDD, i have USB 1 only.

Is there any way to create bootable to DOS or XP bootloader harddrive?
My desktop had CD drive, but no floppy either.

THx

Hi

you should iether use the "cloning feature " in the application to clone drive 1 to drive 2

or you can make an image of drive one to drive 3 and then restore it to drive 2

here are some products that work

You can change the boot disk in BIOS to make sure the the new hard drive is on in your computer. It also depends on what IDE cord you have attached to you hard drive, it is important to make sure that your ide is compatible.
