How to get Pastel Partner v5.2 to work on Windows7?

By GMPM ·
My pastel 5.2 program will not open with windows7. I get a message: The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running.
Check your computer system info to see whether you need x86(32bit) or x64(64bit) version of the program then contact the software publisher. I have used the compatibility troubleshooter which does not work. This program worked on windows 95,98 & XP.

Have you tried to run it under "Admin"?

Right click on the program in question and select "run this as admin" and see if that helps.

That is correct

This particular program Is Not Compatible with Windows 7 you need to update it with a newer version of this application or use a different OS like XP.

If you have a High End version of 7 you may like to try XP Mode but from my limited experience it's only marginally better than the basic Compatibility Mode which doesn't work for many programs.

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/
and download & install all three programs. Then open Windows XP mode and install Pastel 5.2. Copy your company files to that directory and all will run just fine.

That XP Mode doesn't work with all versions of 7 you need one of the higher versions not the base versions.
