How to join 2 different subnets in one DOMAIN?

By alexk2011 ·
Hello,

I have a DC win 2008 with ip 10.0.2.x. I also have another group ( workgroup) of pc's in a remote site with ip 10.0.1.x. The two sites are connected via vpn with zyxel routers. I would like to know how to configure domain controller so that i can join the domain throw the network 10.0.1.x to finally have only one DOMAIN with 2 subnet and global group policy

Thanks for your quick reply

i would look into setting up a second dc at the remote office. set both dcs as gcs. when the vpn is unavailable, the client can still work.

One bit of information that would be useful would be what subnet mask you are using on each segment. Are you using a 255.255.0.0 mask or what? Can the two subnets see each other? Can you ping across? Those are necessary steps before you can go any further. The idea of a second DC is good, but you still have have the two communicating.
